The Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was started by our Italian ancestors thanking God through the intercession of the Blessed Mother for their safe passage to the USA and the bounty of their crops. It was wonderful to see this tradition flourish in such a tremendous way this year. The turnout over the entire week was incredible, showing that the Feast still means a great deal to tens of thousands of people and that we are all thankful for the fellowship this Festival brings.
