Father Joseph Capella

The Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society is proud to have Fr. Joseph P. Capella, S.A.C., serve as the Society's first Chaplain.  Fr. Joseph is the only member of the Society to enter the priesthood.  Fr. Joseph is the son of Anthony and Nina Capella of Hammonton.  His father and brother, are also members of the Mt. Carmel Society.

As Chaplain of the Society, Fr. Joseph presides over the ceremony held at the monument to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel on Pine Road and participates in the morning mass that the membership attends on the feast day. 

A 1979 graduate of Hammonton High School, Fr. Joseph went on to study at St. Joseph University in Philadelphia, PA, where he received a degree in corporate management. In 1986, he entered the Pallotine Seminary in Hyattsville, MD.  Fr. Joseph was ordained as a priest on June 2, 1990 in a ceremony conducted at St. Joseph's Church in Hammonton.
